John Miller is a partner of Platt, Sparks & Associates Consulting Petroleum Engineers, Inc. upon graduation from Texas A&M University in 1995. He was promoted to consulting engineer in 2001.

Miller’s areas of responsibility with Platt, Sparks & Associates include: reservoir engineering studies, economic analysis, reserve determination, field development studies, well log analysis, gas contract analysis and environmental impact assessments.  Miller also works with the Railroad Commission of Texas in assisting operators with regulatory matters and testifies regularly before the Commission.  He aids operators in securing drilling permits, well commingling permits, spacing exceptions, density exceptions, disposal permits, new field designations, special field rules, field consolidations, tight gas area designations and gas storage permits.

Miller holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University at College Station and a Master of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.  He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and an active member in the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
