David M. Klatt joined Platt, Sparks & Associates in June of 1999 and is a Reservoir Engineer. Mr. Klatt's responsibilities include reservoir engineering studies, economic analysis, reserve determination, reservoir simulation, well log analysis, operational investigations, and the review and filing of regulatory applications with the Texas Railroad Commission. Mr. Klatt has prepared detailed technical reports and provided support for expert witness testimony before state and federal regulatory bodies and has also worked on projects in the offshore Gulf of Mexico, all geographic regions of onshore Texas and parts of New Mexico, Oklahoma and Louisiana. Mr. Klatt has given technical expert witness testimony before the Texas Railroad Commission on several occasions.

Mr. Klatt's experience with the oil industry began in the summer of 1997 with an internship with Texaco Exploration and Production, Inc in Midland, Texas where he worked as a roustabout in two different oil fields with waterflood operations. Mr. Klatt spent the summer of 1998 in an internship with Pioneer Natural Resources in Houston, Texas where his responsibilities included performing reservoir studies to determine probable oil and gas reserves and analyzing gas lift performance in marginal wells. During his tenure with Pioneer, he also visited and observed various offshore production and drilling operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

Mr. Klatt graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
